Obsessed with Music and full of dreams, Ritchie Valens (Lou Diamond Phillips) bursts into the glittering world of 1950’s rock with a string of chart-busting singles. Ritchie clings to the love of his girlfriend, is haunted by a growing conflict with his half-brother and has eerie premonitions of his own death. © 1987 Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc. Waylon Jennings was to be there on that plane trip but he passed it up. Listen to Waylon's Bio about this story. It's a wonderful Bio. RIP Richie and rip Waylon
The bartender Bob’s Irish Uncle is Cholla from Every Which Way But Loose and Any Which Way You Can.
What I love the most about this movie is how me and my dad boned over it teaching me about life love and so much more we even make jokes and quotes about this movie
Smell like fish 🐠 but test like chicken 🍗😂😂
I believe if Ritchie hadn't gotten on that plane and lived, he might would have wound up in Herb Alpert's A&M stable in the 60s, who produced a lot of Latino acts during that time.
Final scene is haunting
When he sings Donna, makes me think of Jim Reeves doing He’ll Have To Go the same way
I wasn’t even born yet, but I appreciate what singers went through to get famous, and like Ritchie, Elvis, Johnny Cash, etc. go from being poor to being filthy rich

I know this is cliché but whoever made this free, you are the absolute best.
The people that put the Winter Dance Party had them criss Cross the upper Midwest also shows were added instead of Bob Keene and those who managed the others making sure the means of transportation was adequate it became undesirable and Buddy Holley sought decent transportation so he could get sleep and do laundry !! To think that 3 stars would parish in a plane crash is hard to fathom !! Rest In Peace Buddy Holley – The Big Bopper known as J.P. Richardson Jr. and of course Ritchie Valens !! If there’s a Rock n roll heaven you know they got a hell of a band !!
“It’s not my first…or my last”
Bobmetheus The Great
its crazy how eddie cochran died in 1960 a year after they died in the plane crash and they where all friends
Everyone deserves a son like that 🤣
My aunt lived on her parents farm in Detroit Lakes minnesota 45 miles from Fargo North Dakota she and her friends from high school were supposed to see the show there that is where Buddy Holly Ritchie Valens and the big bopper were flying to before the plane crashed.
Can you just imagine, losing that coin toss? That actually happened.
Ritchie will live forever

If some strange man came into my home into my backyard and started petting my daughter on the head like some kind of animal I don't think I would like that too much.
1k
Rest in Peace, Bob….Hope you see Ritchie Valens in Heaven.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
17 years old. 17 😪
Absolutely great movie. The big bopper who died with ritchie is buried right down the road here in my hometown of Beaumont texas

"Come on Rosie, take a hit man. Put a little mota in our love life" 🤣
If only they would have never got on that plane 😢
I was born in 82 not long after my dad showed me this movie and it has been at the top of my list of favorite movies of all time.
THIS. IS. A. GREAT. MOVIE. SAW. IT. LONG
AGO. !!
Bobs the best part of the movie he’s the real rock star lol
damn, the scene of Ritchie, Buddy, & Bopper flying off into the dark cold winter abyss & into immortality contrasted with the California next morning scenes of mom & Bob while "Over The Mountain" plays are soo chilling
fantastic movie — ending still crushes after all these years….
I can’t hear “Sleepwalk” to this day without tearing up. This movie is tragically beautiful and God only knows what society would have been like with them around. People say the music died that day; but the music lives on, forever in their names.
As messed up as he was. Ritchie wouldn't have become who he was without Bob.
I like this movie
Doesn’t anybody recognize Rudy the lead singer of the Silouettes ? Chale con ustedes. It’s Carlos Zuniga from Blood In Blood Out. 🤷🏻♂️
